Mix-In Ideas

Can the best get better? Maybe not, but by simply stirring in one of these ingredients you’ll have a delectable alternative using your favorite Stove Top variety. Or add that “secret something” for your very own special creation.

Vegetables

[Green and red peppers]
  • Bell Peppers: ½ cup each diced green and red pepper. Cook and stir peppers in 1 tbsp hot oil for 5 minutes.
  • Carrot: ½ cup shredded carrot
  • Corn: 1 can (8 oz) whole kernel corn or whole kernel corn with peppers
  • Mushrooms: 1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • Tomato & Green Onions: 1 medium tomato, chopped, drained and ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Zucchini: ½ cup thinly sliced zucchini

Nuts and Cheeses

[An assortment of nuts]
  • Cheddar Cheese: ½ cup Kraft Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Nuts: ½ cup chopped almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, cashews or chestnuts
  • Parmesan Cheese: ⅓ cup Kraft 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese

Other Favorites

[An assortment of meats]
  • Bacon: 5 strips Oscar Mayer Bacon, cooked, crumbled
  • Giblets: ½ lb. giblets, cooked, drained and chopped
  • Ground Meat: ½ lb. ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken or pork), cooked, drained
  • Oysters: 1 can (8 oz) oysters, drained
  • Sausage: 6 oz bulk sausage, cooked, drained

Fruits

[An assortment of fruits]
  • Apples: 1 medium apple, cored, chopped
  • Dried Fruits: ½ cup chopped mixed dried fruits (apples, dates, raisins, apricots and prunes)
  • Oranges: 1 can (11 oz) drained mandarin orange segments or 2 tsp grated orange peel and halved sections from 2 oranges
  • Peaches: 1 can (8½ oz) peach slices, drained, chopped
  • Pears: 1 medium pear, cored, chopped
