Wedding Vows
When my husband and I were married in 1983, the wedding vows we took included "in sickness and in health."
We were tested within 1 1/2 years of those vows by a tragic car accident, which rendered my once strong husband
who I depended on a C-5 quadriplegic. I have refused to compromise on his care for almost 25 years—I am his primary
caregiver. I have compromised on many other avenues of my life, my job, my own health, and time with family and friends,
but I never compromise on the care of my spouse. I take comfort in a meal that includes Kraft macaroni & cheese—good
southern comfort food. This is one of my small joys in life that I can count on.

Family First
I never compromise when it comes to my family. In 1993, at the age of 20, I lost my mother to Cancer. Before her passing
I made a promise to her to always take care of her "baby", my brother Raymond who has Cerebral Palsy and profound Mental
Retardation. A month later, I stood before a judge and repeated the promise to take full care of my then 18 year old brother.
It has been a big responsibility but not one single regret! My mother taught me that family comes first and that we need to be
there for one another. Now, 14 years later, my husband and I make a great team in taking care of him. One of my brother
and kids favorite dishes is Kraft Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese with homemade chili. They love it!

Military Life with Kraft
Life in the military as a single parent can be very demanding. Military members must never compromise their integrity
for any reason. We have a motto in the Air Force "Integrity First, Service before Self, and Excellence in all we do.” One
responsibility I do not take lightly is providing for my two daughters. It sure is nice to know that Kraft is there when it
comes to placing a nutritional meal on the table. Now, that I am retired, I still use Kraft products in my life everyday. Never
compromise your country, your family, and the meals you serve your kids. Using Kraft never compromises the quality
products you provide for your children. Kraft gets the mission done.

The Unshakable Values
I have two teenagers. One is in college and the other, a Junior in high school. Recently, we have experienced less of my
daughter's friends visiting. We asked why, she said it was because we are too uptight. Uptight? I asked - why. "Because
we always eat together and we pray before we eat and always talk! It embarrasses my friends sometimes" she said. Badly
shaken and saddened, I explained that our values are not up for a popularity contest. Family meals and God are part of our
core values and not subject to change. We will continue to come to the table together, as a family. We will continue to pray
and we will continue to have dinner conversations, checking in on how everyone is doing. Comfort meals, like Kraft Macaroni
and Cheese, make that possible, even when time is limited and it embarrasses them to eat with us.
