FAQs

Q: Why did Maxwell House International change its packaging?
A: Maxwell House International changed from a steel container to a new and innovative Lock-In-Fresh package that gives you increased convenience while helping reduce the impact on the environment. This new package helps seal in freshness, makes our product easier to scoop out, and is more environmentally friendly as it uses 50% less packaging material than the previous package.
Q: Why did Maxwell House International change the look of the package?
A: Maxwell House International changed from our traditional white and red look to our new bold, blue look in order to match the look of the Maxwell House family of coffees and remind consumers of the rich coffee heritage behind the product.
Q: Has the product inside the package changed?
A: No, the recipe for our cafes, lattes, and cappuccinos did not change when we changed our packaging. It’s the same delicious product you already know and love.
Q: Has the number of servings in the package changed?
A: No, the new Lock-In-Fresh package has different dimensions than the original steel container, but the net weight and number of servings in each package has not changed.
Q: What kind of products are offered by Maxwell House International?
A: Maxwell House International is a line of sweet, creamy, and indulgent café-style beverage mixes containing a mixture of coffee (except Chai Tea), non-dairy creamer (except Iced Lattes), sweetener, and, in some cases, flavorings. Maxwell House International offers over 20 varieties of flavors including cafes, lattes, and cappuccinos, as well as decaf and sugar-free varieties.
Q: What is the difference between Maxwell House International cafes, lattes, and cappuccinos?
A: Similar to the beverage types in coffeehouses, cafes (café-style beverage mix) have no foam, while lattes and cappuccinos include a frothy layer of foam.
Q: How are Maxwell House International cafes, lattes, and cappuccinos prepared?
A: Maxwell House International products can be conveniently and easily prepared by adding boiling water to the mix, or, for a creamier and more indulgent preparation, you can add hot milk (not boiling). For our Iced Lattes, you can add either cold milk or cold water.
Q: Why did General Foods International change its brand name to Maxwell House International?
A: The former General Foods International brand was launched in 1973 by General Foods, the same company that made Maxwell House. Since 1990 both brands have been part of Kraft Foods. By bringing the International product line into the Maxwell House family, we can bring you innovation such as the new Lock-In-Fresh Pack and more variety such as our line of lattes and cappuccinos.
Q: Why does my cappuccino say “new” on the front of the package?
A: Maxwell House International cappuccinos were reformulated in early 2011, before the change in packaging took place. The cappuccinos were reformulated so they have a creamier, richer, flavor. Due to the new reformulation the package weight increased compared to the old formula.
Q: Where can I find Maxwell House International?
A: Maxwell House International is sold in stores nationwide.
Q: Where can I my favorite flavor?
A: If you are unable to find your flavor, ask your store manager to locate it. If for some reason your local store no longer carries it, you may order it online at Amazon.com.
